Known as the Grand Old Lady of Locust St, the gas lamps on the front of this renovated 1857 opera house set the tone for the gorgeous baroque interior. It's a real treat to see a show here.
Check with the Kimmel Center for tickets and also about architectural tours, which they sometimes offer here. Their annual Anniversary Concert and Ball, held in January, is a spectacular white-tie event and throughout the year there's a great lineup of artists including performers of the caliber of Patti Labelle, Jerry Seinfeld and the Pennsylvania Ballet.
