Pony Island Restaurant

Outer Banks

Filling local bellies with a wealth of American breakfast fare since 1959, this is a classic American family-style breakfast spot. Order pancakes, eggs any style and French toast. The biscuits and gravy, fish cakes and eggs, local crab and Swiss omelet and stacked English muffins are particularly good. It's all well done and a definitive gathering point for the townsfolk.

Take a gander at the photos on the walls, some of which document how local Boy Scouts broke the local wild ponies back in the day. Only open in high season.
