Clover Club

New York City

Cocktails are certainly shaken with aplomb at this retro-elegant bar, but there's no pretension at Clover Club. Converse over fabulous tiki drinks, libations infused with lavender and bell peppers, and happy-hour specials like $8 Aperol Spritz (4pm to 7pm Monday to Friday). Mocktails, too, are given loving attention, with headache-free concoctions of elderflower, agave and sugar snap peas.

Bar fare tends towards the nostalgic and easily held, such as deviled eggs and steak on toast. Clover also serves big weekend brunches matched with excellent Bloody Marys and gin fizzes.
