Heron

Top choice in Catskills

A slice of Brooklyn on the Delaware, the Heron has reclaimed wood picnic tables, tin ceilings and a refined menu touting locavore credentials. The oysters and fried chicken are especially recommended. The best tables are on the back deck overlooking the river. There's also a separate bar underneath the deck.

It's popular, and opening hours can be irregular (and it's usually closed mid-February to early April), so book in advance.
