American Ballet Theatre

Upper West Side & Central Park

Founded in 1937, this traveling company presents a classic selection of ballets at the Metropolitan Opera House every spring (generally in May), with a shorter season at the David H Koch Theater in the fall.

At the Met, the Orchestra, Parterre and Grand Tier sections offer the best views (from the top Family Circle you’ll mainly just see the dancers’ heads); box seats toward the rear have highly obscured views. The Koch Theater has good sight lines throughout.
