Named for the year it was built, this historic home now serves as a quaint inn. Its seven individually designed suites are like mini-apartments, with a kitchenette, private baths, queen beds and period-style furnishings (those occupying a full floor have multiple bedrooms and can sleep up to three). All rooms are light-filled, with airy 12ft ceilings.
This is a good-value place for the neighborhood, and prices have dropped dramatically, but new city regulations mean there is a one-month minimum stay. But if you're looking for long-term sleeps in a characterful, vintage structure (there is no elevator, the floors are a bit creaky and, in winter, heat is provided by steam radiators), then its perfect (especially the Garden Room, with its spacious outdoor patio).
