Cabaret, comedy and campy dance moves are par for the course at the legendary Duplex, on song since 1950. Pictures of Joan Rivers line the walls, and performers like to mimic her sassy form of self-deprecation while getting in a few jokes about audience members as well. It's a fun and unpretentious place, but certainly not for the bashful.
On weekdays from 9pm the downstairs piano bar has an open mic: take part, or simply watch some extremely talented regulars (including Broadway performers) and staff belt out the hits. There's a two-drink minimum.
