Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre

Midtown

Comedy sketch shows, improv and variety reign at the new location of the legendary venue, which receives drop-ins from casting directors and often features well-known figures from TV. Entry is cheap, and so is the beer and wine. You'll find quality shows happening nightly, from either 6pm or 7:30pm, though the Sunday-night Asssscat 3000 improv session is always a riot.

It’s free on Sundays after 9:30pm and for various other late-night shows throughout the week after 11pm, featuring up-and-coming comics. There's also an Upright Citizens Brigade outpost in Greenwich Village (45 Bleecker St). Check the website for popular classes on sketch and improv, which happen in a studio at 520 Eighth Ave.
