Allagash Brewing Company

Nationally known for its Belgian-style beers, Allagash opens its doors for free tours and tastings every day (book a tour online; weekend tours are super-popular). The brewery is 3.5 miles northwest of Portland's Old Port, off Forest Ave. (Handily, a couple of smaller, more gritty breweries offer tastings just across the road: Austin Street and Foundation Brewing.)
