This intimate, adult-oriented hacienda was recently given a four-star upgrade by Waldo Hernandez, celebrity designer who has done work for the likes of the former Brangelina. The look is ocean-friendly grays and blues, and you might just find yourself face-to-face with well-curated art pieces by the likes of Jasper Johns, Robert Indiana and Andy Warhol.
Its 47 ocean-facing rooms are sheathed in soothing sea colors and outfitted with fireplaces, plush linens, futuristic Japanese toilets and private balconies or terraces. First-floor oceanfront rooms have a deck so close to the beach you can almost touch the rocks. Overnight parking is $35.
Because the beach is private you can take booze from your beach chair.
