Old Talbott Tavern

Kentucky

The dim limestone environs of the Old Talbott Tavern have been welcoming guests like Abraham Lincoln and Daniel Boone since the late 1700s. It was a stagecoach stop back in the day, and it still has a vintage, heavy-timbered feel. The bar pours more than 160 types of bourbon.

There's also a restaurant that serves country fried steak, beef pot roast and other hearty dishes (mains $16 to $23). On the floor above, the inn offers six rooms ($105 to $135) with antique decor and wi-fi. They can be noisy given the nightlife below. The same owners operate the Talbott Inn next door.
