Hilo Seaside Hotel

Among Hilo's larger hotels, the family-owned Seaside is a great budget option. One-hundred-thirty rooms are spread in low-rise buildings, some overlooking a fishpond, others surrounding a courtyard garden and swimming pool. Rooms are basic, but spotless. Founded in 1956, it's a well-run operation with longtime staff. Check out the nicely curated "Hilo Heritage Museum" near the lobby.
