Manaʻe Goods & Grindz

Top choice in Moloka'i

Even if it wasn't your only option, you'd still want to stop here. The plate lunches are something of a local legend: tender yet crispy chicken katsu (deep-fried fillets), specials such as pork stew, and standards such as excellent teriyaki burgers and fresh fish sandwiches served on perfectly grilled buns.

Sauces are homemade, the potato salad is superb and the mac salad is simply the island's best (it's not too gloopy). Many swear by the light and crispy shrimp tempura. Breakfast is great value. Picnic tables are shaded by trees and there's a little garden. The store manages to pack an amazing amount of groceries, and even freshly made goods such as sandwiches, into a small space.
