Grand Trunk Pub

Detroit

Once the ticket hall for the Grand Trunk Railroad, this high-ceilinged space still buzzes, but this time patrons are content to sit and stop a while. With good reason: there's a vast beer selection and a full bar menu. The patio is an excellent spot to people-watch, thanks to the pedestrian esplanade down Woodward Ave.

There's a separate whisky bar upstairs, which features live music on Saturdays. Around since 2006, Grand Trunk Pub was among the first wave of new businesses to invest in downtown Detroit.
