El Moore Lodge

Detroit

A unique option in Midtown with a great friendly vibe, El Moore occupies a turreted 1898 building that has been renovated with solar panels and a geothermal heating and cooling system. Reclaimed wood and tiles feature in the interior. The 11 rooms vary widely, from basement digs with two bunk beds to chic rooftop 'cabins' with a private balcony.

A breakfast of coffee, fruit and pastries is included, as is parking in the secure lot. Weird fact: famed radio personality Casey Kasem lived in a house that once stood on the property (where the greenhouse is now).
