Opened as a hotel in 1911, this 10-story beaux-arts hotel features an airy, light-stealing lobby atrium that beckons travelers to its 326 rooms, which were all in the process of a modern upgrade at the time of research. The most economical rooms are small, but hardwood flooring and newly renovated marble bathrooms ensure a cozy option for solo travelers. Rooftop pool!
In 1939 the hotel's Grand Ballroom hosted the Gone with the Wind gala. The film did not premiere across the street at the Fox Theatre but rather at at Loew's Grand Theatre in Downtown. The hotel has a restaurant, coffee shop and fun cocktail bar, Edgar's Proof & Provision.
