One of Miami Beach's most talked about new hotels, the Faena has lavish, artfully designed spaces both inside and out. The rooms, set with a royal red and teal color scheme, are full of beauty and whimsy: animal-print fabrics, coral and seashell decorative touches, custom-designed carpets and window seats (or terraces) for taking in the views. Each room also has butler service.
Gilded columns and exquisite tropical murals line the lobby, with a pretty pool in back – a few paces away from a fully intact gold-covered woolly mammoth skeleton created by British artist Damien Hirst. Two great restaurants are on hand (and another by the pool), as is a massive spa that takes up one whole floor of the hotel, plus lavish drinking dens and a 150-seat theater inspired by Europe's grand old theaters.
