The oldest bar on an island of bars – 'A sunny place for shady people' being one of its mottos – this rogues’ cantina opened in the late 19th century and keeps going. Its ramshackle interior, with local artwork on the walls and a parachute stretched across the ceiling, only adds to the atmosphere, as does the fun-loving, colorful crowd.
The Green Parrot books some of the best bands – playing funk-laden rock, brassy jazz, juke-joint blues and Latin grooves – that hail from Miami, New Orleans, Atlanta and other places. There's never a cover.
