The best spot for breakfast or lunch in Los Rios Historic District, this Old West–flavored, wood-built house from 1881 (with brick patio) does organically raised comfort food flavored with herbs grown on-site: blueberry pain perdu (French toast) with lemon curd, apple-cinnamon beignets, basil-cured salmon lox or spicy crab-cake salad with smoked chili rémoulade. Breads are baked in-house daily.
On Saturdays and Sundays, only the brunch menu is served.
To get here, cross the railroad tracks at the end of Verdugo St and turn right.
