Kate's Lazy Desert

Top choice in Joshua Tree National Park

Owned by Kate Pierson of the band B-52s, this desert camp has a coin-sized pool (May to October) and half-a-dozen artist-designed Airstream trailers to sleep inside. Sporting names such as 'Tinkerbell,' 'Planet Air' and ' Hot Lava,' each is kitted out with matching fantasia-pop design, a double bed and a kitchenette.

The pool-side hammocks are perfect for counting the stars at night. Bring firewood to feed the firepit. Not suitable for children.
