Though built in 1955, the year Disneyland opened, the park’s original hotel has been rejuvenated with a dash of bibbidi-bobbidi-boo. There are three towers with themed lobbies (adventure, fantasy and frontier), and the 972 good-sized rooms now boast Mickey-hand wall sconces in bathrooms and headboards lit like the fireworks over Sleeping Beauty Castle.

It also has the best swimming pool of the three Disney hotels (amoeba-shaped with water slides and kiddie pools), plus cartoon character–themed Signature Suites in the Adventure Tower, and the fantastic Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Lounge by the pool.

Insider tip: it's worth upgrading to the Concierge level to use the lounge, with the best views of the park's fireworks.

The Disneyland Hotel sits near the entrance to Downtown Disney, a short walk from the monorail.
