Shababeek

Top choice in Sharjah

This chic space serves up contemporary Levantine dishes with creative flourishes. The mezze is what you want to focus on here, with beetroot and walnut moutabel (purée mixed with tahini, yoghurt and olive oil), green lentil tabbouleh (salad of tomatoes, parsley and onions) and vine leaves soaked in hosrom (sour grape molasses) all getting the thumbs up from us.

Finish up with a dessert of maamoul (domed filled biscuits) stuffed with cheese.
