From the Emirates Palace grand entrance, walk through its gold-edged central dome to Le Café in the back lobby for cappuccino sprinkled with 24-karat gold flakes (Dhs73) or a camelccino (espresso with camel's milk, Dhs60). If that's not decadent enough, high tea here is an institution, featuring a selection of six sandwiches which balance both English and Arab traditions.

In the cooler months (November to April approximately) it also serves its menu in an outdoor setting, down by the fountains at the start of the grand entrance staircase, between 1pm and 9pm.
