Madinat Zayed Shopping & Gold Centre

Abu Dhabi

For first-time visitors to a gold souq, the window displays of bridal necklaces, earrings and belts, the trays of precious stones and the tiers of gold bangles in this old-fashioned shopping centre are an attraction in their own right. It's also known for being a place to shop for affordable pearls set in gold necklaces and rings.

As well as jewellery, there are plenty of abaya (a robe-like dress worn by women) and headscarf shops.
