Picture Gallery

The pieces on display are only a small fraction of the permanent collection, which includes some 60,000 works of art and thousands of other artefacts. They are rotated through here. Most impressive is the Great Hall, filled with 19th-century portraits and sculptures, plus some priceless original furniture from the same period. Temporary exhibitions are often worth checking out.
