Sneak away from the busy uzviz into this beautiful old wooden house with sliding-glass doors overlooking a lush ravine out back. Kanapa serves modern cuisine largely made from its own farm's produce. Traditional it is not: green borshch is made of nettles and chicken Kiev is not chicken but pheasant. Ukrainian mussels, caviar and pâté are other specialities.
A good place for an affordable and highly original breakfast (10am to noon). Newly opened sister cafe Kanapka across the street focuses on lighter meals and wine.
