Theatre on Podol

Kyiv

The best of Ukrainian and Russian drama, both classic and contemporary, is shown here, although shows are in Ukrainian. The theatre building was controversially rebuilt in a modernist style in 2016, drawing a firestorm of criticism on social media. Preservationists were outraged that it dwarfs and contrasts with the surrounding structures on historic Andriyivsky uzviz.
