Makindye Country Club

Kampala

Formerly a members-only club for US embassy staff, Makindye Country Club is now under British management and open for all. The eclectic mix of rooms, all with very '70s decor, are set over huge grounds with plenty of recreational activities: outdoor lap pool, clay tennis courts, gym, squash courts, classes, games room, TV lounge and a huge playground for kids.

It's on the fringes of Kampala, just off the Entebbe Rd.
