A destination hotel if ever there was one, this complex of stone buildings is a rural oasis up in the Taurus Mountains, with astounding views across the countryside. There are 20 rooms and suites done in traditional fashion (wattle-and-daub plastered walls) with antique furniture and wooden balcony or stone terrace. There are many fine hikes in the area.
We love the nearby Lycian acropolis (which owner Süleyman can guide you through), the pool shaped like a traditional cistern, the set meals (lunch/dinner €14/21) prepared entirely from locally grown produce (though some rooms have kitchens if you prefer to self-cater) and the afternoon tea.
It's 18km west of Demre, and 3km south of Davazlar village, off the D400.
