The blue-and-white checked tablecloths give this popular lokanta in the courtyard of the Mirkelam Han near the Hisar Mosque a Greek-island vibe, but the food is resolutely İzmiri, with a focus on unusual soups (trotter, rabbit, duck or fish) and local specialities including İzmir köfte (baked spicy meatballs). It opened in 1950 and has a passionately devoted clientele.
