Cocoa Pod

Top choice in Port of Spain

A one-stop cocoa mecca: as well as chocolates and bars (some raw), flavoured with roucou, honey, sea salt, coffee or mint, goodies include ice cream, syrups, pepper sauce, delectable cookies and dip'n'spread jars with peanut, sorrel, passionfruit, guava and mango. There's also a very moreish rum-based liqueur and even a cocoa-infused bitters for shaking into cocktails. Lotions and soaps, too.

Don't leave without a sampling a cup of hot cocoa or refreshing maté-style tea made from cocoa shells. A kind of cocoa mad professor and a wealth of info on the health benefits of the beautiful bean, the owner makes almost all of the products in-house, and is always developing new and wonderful cocoa-based concoctions.
