Leiden's historic waag (weigh station) is now home to one of the town's most popular eating and drinking spots, a bustling place attracting locals of every age. In the morning, canal-side tables and the rear conservatory are sunny spots for a coffee; at night, the vaulted main room with its tables and golden-lit marble bar attracts drinkers and diners alike.

On Friday and Saturday nights, the place morphs into the Waag een Borrel club, with plenty of action at the bar and on the impromptu dance floor between 10pm and 3am.
