D'Oude Morsch

Leiden

Sharing a canal bank with De Put windmill, this hotel occupies the 1870 watchhouse of a former army barracks. A great deal of thought has gone into the building's transformation, and the resulting 18 rooms are comfortable and stylish; some have unusual bathroom set-ups. Breakfast (€14.50) is enjoyed in the ground-floor bar/cafe, which has both indoor and canal-side seating.

Parking costs €7 per day, pets €7.50. Children will enjoy playing in the attached park.
