Haarlem

Strung with fairy lights, this red-brick building on the northern edge of the sprawling Haarlemmerhout park is a welcoming spot for a Jopen beer, over 20 by-the-glass wines or a cocktail, as well as high tea and 'high wine' (four glasses of wine and a paired dish). Its succession of timber-floored rooms opens to a large terrace.

The kitchen serves light bites and full meals such as steaks until 10pm.
