Wadapartja

Groningen

Wadapartja means 'How very special!' in Groningen – perfectly apt given the funky spirit of this zany curiosity shop–cafe with sun-drenched pavement terrace (in summer customers can sit with their feet in a paddling pool of water). The menu covers all appetites: breakfasts includes Moroccan stew, bacon and eggs, and homemade banana bread dunked in orange-blossom syrup.

Lunch features several vegan and vegetarian options, and a gin-and-tonic cheesecake that is impossible to resist.
