Lloyd Hotel

Top choice in Amsterdam

Magnificent waterside Lloyd was a hotel for emigrants from the Netherlands, who stayed here before setting sail, back in 1921. Many original fixtures remain, alongside contemporary art installations and design. The one- to five-star rooms range from budget with shared bathrooms to racquetball-court-sized top-end extravaganzas with unique features (foldaway bathrooms, a giant bed for seven, a grand piano etc).

The eye-catching interiors carry through to the chic on-site restaurant with sunny terrace.
