Set amid a pristine swath of Gambian forest, this locally run, ecofriendly option has rustic thatched-roof accommodation with mosquito nets and shared toilets and well water for bathing (bucket-and-jug style). With over 100 bird species around, this is a fantastic place for birdwatchers – but obviously not ideal for prima donnas.
