Potter's Cay

Nassau

Less popular than the Fish Fry and a bit seedy-feeling at times, this lively food and drink market sits beneath the Paradise Island Exit Bridge. Fishing boats from the Out Islands arrive daily, carrying the sea’s harvest, as well as fruit, herbs, pepper sauces and vegetables, and the Bahamas Ferries and mail boats dock just to the north.

You can meet locals over a Kalik beer, conch salad or sheep's-tongue souse (stew) here, but it's not a great place to hang around alone at night.
