Namchok

Top choice in Trat

This simple open-sided restaurant north of the centre is deservedly a local favourite, with some excellent seafood dishes and well-meaning service from an army of young helpers. There's a helpful English menu, with such intriguing dishes as stir-fried ostrich with black pepper, and fried softshell crab. It's only signposted in Thai: look for the Coke logos and concrete bench seating.
