Mon Prasit Resort

Northeastern Thailand

Right on the Mekong, and with the forested 'snake mountains' butting up against the river on the opposite shore (in Lao), Bung Khla is all about the location. The rooms at this simple hotel are clean, though small; it's well worth upgrading to one of the six riverside wooden bungalows, where you can soak up the magical views from your private veranda.

Coming from the highway into the village, once you hit the river turn left, then follow the road around to the other side of a small tributary and you'll soon reach the resort.
