River Kwai Resotel

Top choice in Nam Tok

Beautifully furnished thatched-roof bungalows are scattered around this riverside resort's lush gardens. Arriving is thrilling: guests park their cars at nearby Phutakien Pier and take a seven-minute long-tail boat ride to the resort (included in the price). Breakfast and à la carte meals (all high-quality Thai and international food) can be enjoyed in the pretty, central lodge. Book ahead.

There's a variety of bunaglow styles and low-season discounts can be pretty big. Note that the promised wi-fi seems to only function sporadically, and this problem has gone unfixed for several years. Though it's discouraged, you can drive here rather than using the boat.
