Suk Jai Floating Market

Kanchanaburi

Despite its name, this is not a floating market, though it does take place along the river. Food is the focus and it's mostly snacks, like fried mushrooms and grilled sausages. There's also live music. It takes place every Friday night next to the big stupa at Wat Thewa Sangkharam.

Some of the vendors cook it old-school, like the one who makes kà·nŏm kài (Thai egg cakes) using charcoal both above and below the pan instead of an oven.
