Four Seasons Tented Camp

Top choice in Chiang Rai Province

If you can fit it into your schedule (and budget), this safari-inspired resort is among the most unusual accommodation experiences in Thailand. The ‘tents’ are appropriately luxurious and are decked out in colonial-era safari paraphernalia. A minimum stay of at least two nights is required, and guests take part in daily activities ranging from longboat river excursions to spa treatments.

Twenty-five rescued elephants roam between here and the neighbouring Anantara Golden Triangle Resort. Elephant rides and other pachyderm-related 'experiences' are on offer. As these activities have been proven to be harmful to the animals we don't recommend taking part in them.
