Anantara Golden Triangle Resort & Spa

Chiang Rai Province

This award-winning resort takes up a large patch of beautifully landscaped ground directly opposite the Hall of Opium. The rooms combine Thai and international themes, and all have balconies looking over the Mekong River. Jacuzzi, squash and tennis courts, a gym, sauna and spa round out the luxury amenities, and activities such as cooking courses are included in most packages.

Twenty-five rescued elephants roam part of the Anantara grounds and the neighbouring Four Seasons resort. Rides are offered on them, along with other pachyderm-related 'experiences', but these activities are known to be harmful to the animals and we do not recommend taking part in them.
