Khao Soi Pa Orn

Top choice in Chiang Khong

The Chiang Khong version of kôw soy – the famous northern curry noodle soup – forgoes the curry broth and replaces it with clear soup topped with a rich, spicy minced-pork mixture. It's still delicious, and this place is a compulsory stop for Thai tourists passing through town. A few rice dishes are also available.

There's no Roman-script sign, but it's located next to the giant highway-distance marker.
