Baan Lotus

Near, but completely separate from, the backpacker strip, this converted teak schoolhouse set in a languorous yard way back from the road has a large deck in a pond full of birds and lotuses and a soothing air. Hard-wood-floored rooms (both fan and air-con) are clean and comfortable, and it's so chill that almost nothing happens after 6pm, including check-in.
