Olakira's northern location is one of the Serengeti's finest, with long-distance views down towards Mara River crossing 8, 500m away – one of the busiest during the herd migration – and close to the lively junction between the Mara and Bologonya Rivers. The nine tents are large and beautifully set up and the whole place runs on solar power.
A match for many of the more permanent camps dotted around the Serengeti, Olakira moves between the far south (roughly December to March) and far north of the park.
