The intimate and beautiful Wag Hill, on a small wooded peninsula outside Mwanza, is an excellent post-safari cool down. It has bungalows with screened walls and great wooden furniture, luxury tents and villas; almost all have great lake views. Note that some of the rooms require walking up rock stairs. There's even activities for kids and a special playground.
Kayaks, fishing gear and guided walks are available, and there are plenty of birds, monkeys and other local wildlife to keep you company.
