Set amid lawns, views, palms and dangling orchids, this magical homestay is filled with Chinese art, Buddhist mandalas, antique furniture and calligraphic art. Much of the latter is by the spiritually minded owner, who speaks English and is unendingly obliging. Gourmet breakfasts are included, but you'll need your own wheels to make the most of the wonderfully peaceful rural location.
The Wisdom Garden is 5km north of Yuli. Turn west off Hwy 9 at Km289.4 and follow the signed, narrow lanes for 800m. Book ahead and arrange arrival times as the hosts aren't always home.
