Daxi Fishing Harbour

Top choice in Northern Taiwan

By buying at source in this two-storey food court beside Daxi's fishing fleet, you can gorge on everything from grilled oysters (生蠔; shēngháo) to sea urchin (海膽; hǎidǎn) to whole fish at bargain prices. The harbour is a 20-minute walk north from Daxi train station.

Most vendors will have the day's catch displayed in tanks to be grilled or fried, or you can buy direct off the boats and take it to the vendors yourself.
